It's not even 1 in the afternoon and I've had one busy day already and now I'm trying to Blog about it before the kids wake up from their naps! (Can you tell that it's my day off from work?)
I made 2 dozen "forked eyeballs," 7 mini loaves of pumpkin bread and had a photo shoot with Brady in his Halloween costume.
Forked Eyeballs: A Facebook friend of mine made these from cake balls, but who has the time for that? Not me! I just used doughnut holes and I think they worked out just fine. I do wish I would have bought the regular flavors of gummy Lifesavers and not the berry flavors, they looked cuter with green eyes, but now at least I know!

Here's everything you need besides forks and doughnut holes.
I warmed the candy melts in a glass dish on my electric grill, but you can even microwave them!
Pumpkin Bread: Here' the recipe and we love it. I had lots of help from Brinkley and Braxton (not really) but they enjoyed holding the measuring cups and watching from their stools.
Pumpkin Bread
1 Cup Shortening
3 Eggs
2 Cups Fresh Pumpkin or 1 Large Can of Pumpkin or 1 large can of Pumpkin Pie Filling
2 1/2 Cups Sugar
3 1/2 Cups Flour
1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
1 Tsp. Each of Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Allspice, Cloves
Optional: 1/2 Cup Walnuts and 1/2 Cup Raisins
Mix wet ingredients, add dry ingredients, stir in nuts and raisins if desired.
Bake 2 large loaves or 7 mini loaves for 1 hour at 350 degrees in greased and floured pans. Watch carefully for the last 10 minutes. Cool and serve.

"We're Bananas for Brady": Here's our precious baby in his adorable costume. (I bought the banana costume off Craigslist, my first purchase ever from there and I was so nervous I was going to be killed. My dad had the address and he was on speakerphone on my cell phone hidden in my bra, in case anything happened. Needless to say I didn't get murdered, but I did get a great deal on a super-cute costume!)

Now let's see if you can guess what the rest of the family is going to be?
Here's one more hint...

oh my goodness that's too cute! I am so going to try the forked eyeballs and even attempt the pumpkin bread.
ok and Sadie loves to "help" cook too. I have to give her a bowl with a measuring cup so she can stir. It's so cute. She's not patient enough to "wait" for everything to get done...she just eats her fishies and she's off.
I love the costume and can I say that I actually laughed out loud at the thought of Papa Randy on speaker phone in your bra!!! I had a very good laugh! I'm glad you didn't get killed and even gladder that you got such a cute costume. My Sadie would fit in with the jungle theme she is an elephant ballerina this year!
Have a great Halloween and I look forward to seeing all the pictures!
Oh Amanda, I love you! You are so darn funny! Way good idea though, just in case something goes haywire! Way to go Papa Randy!!
The banana costume is soooooo adorable and the rest of you as Monkeys is gonna be a hit! I love it. Have a great Halloween! Wish I was off to make some of the eyeballs.....next year I guess!
You have officially won the title of "Mother of the Year" my friend. I'm for sure gonna have to make the eyeballs for my kids, always love a new bread recipe and the costume...TOO CUTE!!! Love it. We were gonna do an animal theme this year but my older children were not liking the idea and even though it killed me...I let them go ahead and choose their costumes. Oh well. I look forward to seeing pictures of yours.
Got to be the best looking banana I have ever seen. Can't wait to see the monkees. I bet its a hot costume. The treats look awesome. Te only thing that would make it better is if I were there.
You are too stinkin' cute!! Seriously, you are mother of the year!!
I love, love, love your banana! I can't wait to see those crazy monkeys. You know how on Diego the crazy monkeys are the Bobo Brothers...you have the Bobo twins! Too, too cute!
On speakerphone on your cell phone hidden in your bra? Hilarious! I'm glad you survived the craigslist transaction- I'm always afraid the person is psycho, too. (Which is why when I can, I send my husband to go take care of it.) And I think I will be trying you pumpkin bread recipe- I've been on the lookout for a good one. Thanks for sharing!
