The babies could come any day now. We actually have a day set to induce me, since the babies cannot stay inside passed 38 weeks, that is if I don’t go into labor on my own. I just can’t wait for healthy, happy babies—I’m a bit of a planner and I have it all planned out. I’m sure all you moms out there just laughed out loud—I know, I know, you can’t plan childbirth! But I have a good idea of how I would like it all to go. My good friend, Brittan, a labor and delivery nurse, went through the play-by-play the other day with me and it did freak me out a bit, but I feel much more prepared for the main event. She warned me that with twins there will be about 12 people in the room: doctor, my nurses, baby nurses, surgery techs (just in case), the NNIC unit nurses, etc. and she told me I’d have to deliver in the operating room as a precaution. Kind of crazy. I’m ready though, like I said before, whatever it takes to get healthy, happy babies!

We thought it would be fun to have a little contest among our friends, family and loyal Blog fans. Guess the total weight and length of the babies to win. Your guess should be combined weight and then combined length. For example if you think they will each be 6 pounds, then guess 12 pounds and if you think they will each be 20 inches, then guess 40 inches. Good luck and we’ll announce the winners sometime after the babies arrive. There really isn’t a prize, just the inner happiness you’ll find for being the best guesser and the shout-out you’ll receive from us on the Blog. I posted their approximate weights from the ultra-sound on Wednesday…so you have a pretty good frame of reference. Good luck!

My guess: 14 lbs 2 oz, 391/2 inches
And remember: Get that epidural as soon as possible!!!!! (I've done it with and without one and there is no glory in suffering like that....) I also had my labors planned out extensively- they both went nothing like I planned, but it is a good idea to have a plan as long as you are prepared for anything. You'll do great! I can't wait to hear. Oh yeah can we guess the date? I guess : February 4th
Is it like Price Is Right? Closest without going over wins? Or just closest in general?
Ok Amanda this is Jaime(Taylor)Urmston and I have loved reading about your babies! I am so excited for you. I am going to play along and make a guess.
My guess is : 13lbs 9oz , 40 1/2 inches long
Good luck with the delivery!
I'm guessing 15 lbs 3 oz (I have faith in them being fat little babies), 38.75 inches long. Keep fattening those little lovies up!
Hey Amanda, I am pretty sure you won't have a clue who I am even though I think we met once way back in the day. I was a roommate of Heidi and Kimmy's at Raintree and I think you came to our apartment once to visit. Anyway Kimmy reminded me that I sort of knew you and that you were having twins so I have been following your blog because I just had twins in May. I am so excited for you guys, you are in for such a treat--they are so much fun!
So I thought I would throw in a guess: 14 lbs 12 oz, 39 1/2 inches.
Good Luck! I will be anxious to hear how everything goes!
P.S. your shower looked like a blast and I loved your nursery. You could make some pretty good money making and selling baby bedding--with all that extra time you are going to have! :)
I am excited for their safe arrival and your safe dedivery. Can't wait for # 10 and #11 or Brink and Brax. My guess is 14 lbs and 11 oz. The total length will be 41 inches. We prayer for the four of your daily, so hang in there baby.
My guess is 13 1/2 pounds and 41 inches of babies.
Them are some fat babies!
I guess I will take 15 lbs. 6 oz. and 39 inches. That would be some mighty large twins but I feel like you have grown them pretty big. Make me a winner Amanda keep up the calories!!!
I think they will be 14 lbs. 13 oz. and 41 1/2 inches long
okay...hmmmmm lets see, they told me Nathan was gonna be 8 pounds and he was 10 so...8 carry the 1......okay 14 pounds 7 ounces, and 38" long. Every baby/mommy is oh SO different with labor, whatever happens you're strong enough for anything!! Love you tons, sending you good delivery vibes....
We are so excited for Brax & Brin to come!!!
HOW EXCITING - it's going to be so fun getting updates once the babes are actually here!!
So, for weight = 13.75 lbs
for height - 37.5 inches
I hope everything goes well with the birth. We are all anticipating the big event!
My guess:
14 pounds 3.5 oz
42 inches
Hi Amanda,
I would tell you NOT to have an epidural...but you're having twins and so I decline to comment...but I think natural is so much better. Done it twice and I'm so glad I did. Yes, it hurt. But I didn't want to do ANYTHING that might hurt my baby. Okay...here's my guess. Ready...drum roll please...15# on the dot. And 40" long. Good luck. Love you! Liz
I have given this a lot of thought, weighing all the factors, and consulting the stars and I know those babies will weigh in at 12 lbs 10 oz. and will be 38 inches long.
