What's A Fairytale?

"Once in a while, right in the middle of ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale."

--Anonymous

I have to give a small disclaimer on this quote. By reading it, I hope that you in no way think that I think that our lives are fairytale-like. Not true. I remember when we were engaged I found this quote in a wedding magazine and I just loved it. I put it on all the centerpieces at our wedding reception! It made me think that if two people loved each other enough they could have their "fairytale." Whether that consists of hardships and trials, lying to a tow-truck driver, too much dirty laundry to keep up with on a daily basis, a two-year struggle to conceive, a condo that wont sell or all the other battles of life...if these are the makings of a "fairytale," then yes, I'm living it.

But with each daily battle there are also blessings above that which I could ever imagine. Eternal blessings: knowing we're sealed together forever, the now impending reality of motherhood and fatherhood and a firm belief that as it says in Doctrine and Covenants:

"Peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment. And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high."

D& C 121:7 & 8

There are things so much more important than our homes, cars and other worldly possessions, there's something better.

“The fact of all life is that it is eternal. We have come into the world for a purpose under a divine plan and when we conclude this life we will go on to something that will be better, if we live worthy of it."

--President Gordon B. Hinckley
(Charlotte North Carolina regional conference, 24 Feb. 1996.)

I think that's the "fairytale." We have Heavenly parents who love us and when this mortal journey of life is over, I want to return to live with them again and I want to be surrounded by those that I love.

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God."

Romans 8: 16 & 17

So Inspirational!! I totally felt the Spirit when I read this entry!!

Okay, about the vinyl, I totally have the machine! Isn't that crazy! It's so fun and I use it for all my little signs and crafts and so far I have ALMOST sold enough to have it pay for itself!! And Kelly is totally a computer guy, so he can make crazy projects in the programs he knows well, and then cut them out of vinyl! It's way fun! If you want ANYTHING, like for babies A&B, let me know!!

I am speaking at a YW's thing tonight on parenting/rearing children in the gospel and your post just set the tone for tonight. Thanks for being you!!! P.S. I saw the cutest set of twins today - healthy and happy. One boy and one girl. I thought of you and David. Love, Me

Not related to this post, but my sister's friend had twins yesterday and they weighed 7.2 and 7.5 pounds. Fat twins can happen! Her real due date was Oct 16, they considered taking them Sept. 16, but her Dr. said to see how long she could keep them in for fattening up. She started having contractions and they did a c-section yesterday. That's almost 15 pounds of baby! All I could think was "holy crap! that's a lot of weight!"
