I painted our kitchen back in May and I always meant to Blog about it, but then vacations and babies news came and our camera disappeared so I never took the "after" pictures. Well, we have very exciting new in the Clyde House: THE CAMERA HAS BEEN FOUND!!! I'm embarrassed to say but the camera was in the side pocket of the big suitcase we took to California. I have no memory of sticking it in there, but I'm sure it was me and not David, he doesn't lose things. Me on the other hand, I lose everything: keys, shoes, important papers, etc.
So here you have it, the very amazing face lift of our kitchen, it took me 9 hours, 2 gallons of primer and 3 gallons of "Library Red" paint. (The yellow room off of the kitchen is our formal dining room...I know, I pick very bright paint, but as Nate Berkus [Oprah's fave decorator] always says, "You should choose colors that inspire you." So that's what I've done!)

AFTER=FAB

Well, there you go...who needs to start a revolution when you can decorate like that? Call Nate Berkus and tell him you need a job. You can make big bucks as a decorator and then you won't have to work too much outside the home. Your problem has just been solved.
Nice job Mandy. Painting is hard and tedious work. You have inspired me. I am going to go and take a nap. See Ya.
dear anonymous, please identify yourself!
and the kitchen if fab!
I like it! The red and yellow go well together, I think.
I love it Amanda...your bright walls are beautiful.. It takes a talented person to pick colors that work well and you always do. The kitchen looks great - I love the table and stools - so cute!!
Love the colorful kitchen. I painted mine last fall, but have yet to sew the window coverings. You have inspired me. As soon as I finish my closet (current project) maybe I'll get out the sewing machine.
Have you got plans for the twins room yet?
YAY!! Some house pictures!! I LOVE the red (so much fun) and your little micro mini table is SO cute...I can invision a high chair on each side David shoveling food into one and you shoveling into the other. I desperately need some decorating/organizing help. *sigh* PS - I wish my kids loved the car and we'd come see you guys in a heart beat.
I love your red kitchen. I have been wanting to paint my kitchen red for about a year now but don't have the guts. That is until I saw how great your's looks.
So as soon as I have the time and energy I'm going to do it but for now, I'm with your dad. Time for a snooze, after work that is.
I'm so excited to see your babies, You are so lucky to be having twins.
Love ya, Neva
Love, the colors. I painted those exact colors in my Living Room...I miss my house...but we will have a new one soon!!! And I plan to paint the same colors again. You did a fabulous job...
I am so impressed that you did that all by yourself. And in RED, which requires PRIMER. You are my hero. I once painted an accent wall by myself and was like "I am the do-it-yourself-ist do-it-yourselfer ever." I guess I have to relinquish that now. Enjoy it.
LOVE the kitchen!! You get more comments then anyone I know you are so loved!!
I love your kitchen! It looks great. Makes me want to paint some more!!!
Love the colors. It looks like one of the homes they decorate on TV. Congratulations on your babies.
Where are you going to put those twins at that table? Before you know it they will be sitting there to eat and you and david will have no place to sit. I had to ask but otherwise I love love love the kitchen. So cute. I always wanted a "red room" and now I have seen one done by someone who did it all themsleves. Great job!!
As a fellow red kitchener, I love it! Sometimes I feel like people are a little taken aback by the boldness, but I like it, so oh well!
I love the red! It looks good coming from the yellow! I love bright colors! Go big or go home! So... go big in your home!
I demand an update!!
