My Baby Girl's First Trip To Urgent Care

I was on my way to pick up the twins from school and one of their teachers called to tell me that Brinkley had an accident on the playground and scratched her face. Well I was NOT prepared for what I saw when I got there. She was holding an ice pack to her face and when she saw me she ran towards me and started crying. She pulled the ice pack away and there was a HOLE IN HER FACE!!! It was so sad. I'm crying about it now just thinking about it.

I drove all three kids straight to Urgent Care and she was so brave! She was very worried about getting a shot. But sure enough the doctor let us choose between 2 stitches or glue! We chose the glue!!!

She'll probably have a little scar and every time I see it I'll remember her running towards me with those big, blue eyes drenched in tears. And I'll also remember this:

While she was on the gurney awaiting the doctor's arrival we were talking and I was wiping away her tears and mine. I was reassuring her that everything would be okay and we were quietly staring at each other (the boys were quietly watching a show on my phone) and she started singing, "I love you like a love song, baby and I hit repeat, peat, peat, peat, peat." My sweet baby girl was reassuring me! She's so brave!

Oh, Brinkley, grandma is so proud of you for being so strong and sweet! I had to wipe my tears when I read what happened.

Wow - that would be sad to see that. Thank heavens for glue!! You are a trooper - going to urgent care alone with 3 kids. BRAVE girl. She is so cute and I hope she heals us nicely. Seeing her reminds me of when you were little. Your little mini me!!
