Our Durango Getaway

We just got back from a long weekend away in Durango, Colorado! We had such a great time re-falling in love with Durango! We haven't been since our family grew from 2 to 5!


We went to the Durango Rec Center and swam like fish! The kids loved the kiddie pool, lazy river and two-story waterside! We had so much fun, we went back the next day!


We fed the fish at the Durango Fish Hatchery--so fun!!


We went on a nature walk and loved seeing the wildlife and watching the rafters on the river!

Funny story: While we were walking near the river, all the sudden Brinkley yells, "Mom, look, a camel," I look up just as two deer are walking about 10 feet from her! Note to self: teach the kids more animals! We played at a few local parks! We watched the famous Silverton train go by! We ate so much delicious food!

We had delicious pizza at Iron Horse Pizza! The crust is huge and doughy and they give you warm honey to smother on it after you each the pizza part, it's like dinner and dessert in one! Yum-o!!!


(Sorry no food pics, just people!) We also enjoyed a little Cold Stone and people watching in downtown Durango! At Steamworks we ate their specialty, The Seafood Boil, it's crab-legs, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn all boiled and seasoned together and then they dump it out on your table! David was in heaven! He loves seafood and eating with his hands!
At Carvers we had eggs Benedict, cherry raspberry pancakes and a berry crisp! It was amazing! The kids were crazy, so no pictures! Carvers is also known for their home brewed rootbeer, we ordered some but the server forgot to bring it to us, so something to look forward to for next time!
