Monopoly---With Jedi Powers

(Please note that my side of the board is at the top, left of this picture and David's is at the bottom, right...Why doesn't he keep his money in order??? Drives me crazy. Also, please note that we are using $1 bills as $500 bills, because we each have so much money that we're running out!)

Monopoly has become our new favorite pastime. We have been playing non-stop for like 4 days. We keep the board out and play whenever we have time and when one game's finished we just start a new one. But there's a catch!!

Two Christmas' ago we bought my dad The Star Wars Edition of Monopoly and discovered that there are different rules...you have Jedi Powers when you role doubles. The Star Wars board is really hard to play with because all the names are unfamiliar and the pieces all look alike...I guess you have to be a die hard fan to understand it, and I am not. So now we play with the regular board but with Jedi Powers. It adds such a fun dimension, the old game comes alive again. Here's how you play. When you role doubles you usually get another turn, but now you can invoke your Jedi Powers or roll again, you have the choice.

Doubles ones: Move your piece to any space on the board. (You can go to "Free Parking" and collect all the money in the "pot" if you play that way, you can go to the property you need and buy it from the bank, you can go to the property your opponent needs and buy it from the bank so they can't get it, you can go to "GO," you can go to "Jail," or whatever you like.)

Double twos: $200 from the bank.

Double threes: $50 from each player.

Double fours: Take a "Chance" Card.

Double fives: Take a "Community Chest" Card.

Double sixes: Have a roll off to take any property you choose from another player that is not already part of a monopoly. (You choose the property you want [Remember the person can't own the entire monopoly] and each of you roll one of the dice, the person with the higher number either gets to take the property or gets to keep the property.)

So here's your challenge: Go pull out your old Monopoly board and play with Jedi Powers...you'll have so much fun, it's such a blast!

looks like FUN!! I love when families play board games together. Our favs as of late are mousetrap and sorrB

now, ms. clyde, don't you have some kind of moral obligation as a VIP at B&B to tell us consumers when you're having these killer sales?!! I go maybe twice a year and somehow always time it during a BIG sale. all I ever get is the hand soap because I have too many 3/4 full bottles of stuff already. BUT mon. was an exception. 2 years ago my sis bought me a "wall flower" but when I went to purchase the refill and realized it was $12.50, I refrained. however, this was not the case on mon.!! the TWO-PACK refills (and starter kits) were on sale for $5!! yes, that's $2.50 each--what a deal. I bought $20 worth and am loving them! maybe it was an in-store special but on my way home I realized I need to get the inside scoop from my B&B VIP so I don't miss out on these kind of things!! It made me very happy to get such a steal.

I've band the real monopoly in our house.(we still play Monopoly Jr.) I dont like the person Oscar becomes when he plays. :) Maybe I'll have to lift the band to try this, it sounds fun.

Jerry is not good with board games. He act like we are fighting a world war. Him against me. I rather go to the dentist.
