The Burrito Truck

Some neighborhoods have an Ice Cream Truck...with the familiar music playing off in the distance you know to grab your money and flag him down to enjoy a frozen treat...well, not our neighborhood, we have a Burrito Truck. That's right, a Burrito Truck. I remember the first time I heard the distinctive music, blaring in Spanish from the truck, I was shocked that someone would have the audacity to play their car stereo so loudly, but I was mistaken, it was just the friendly, neighborhood, Burrito Truck! My bad.
There's a lot of construction in the neighborhood and our local Burrito Truck goes up and down the street to get business from the workers. Have I ever been tempted to purchase a burrito? Yes, but I have yet to succumb. I love Mexican food...get me an IV drip so I can enjoy it 24/7, but there's just something about purchasing a burrito in your front yard that freaks me out. I love the entrepreneurial spirit of the guy behind the wheel...but I'm just not ready to purchase the burrito. I bet my Dad would make the purchase if he were here. He's where I inherited my love of Mexican food and I've seen some of the establishments he has eaten at, and yes, I do think he would buy a burrito from the Burrito Truck, right Dad?
I snapped these beauties from the upstairs office in our house, I apologize for the window screen! (You do what you have to, to get the "shot!"

Yew I probably would give it a shot. But if you think I'm bad, try going to Tiajuana with the Reverend Wilcox. Some jsut call hinm Steve. That boy eats of the carts there and never gets sick. I should know , I've been with him a few times. OOOH the tortas are so good.

genius! there is a place here called Betos that might as well be selling burritos out of a truck. I go through the drive through because it stinks so bad inside. but they have the BEST breakfast burritos.

Ok, just try it. It might be the best burrito you will ever eat. Nate and I are obsessed with eating at these ghetto taco stands in east la. Yes, they are totally scarry, but they end up being the best ever! You might even get a little sick afterwards, but hey, its worth every bite :) We love this blog called the Great Taco Hunt. Its this guy that eats tacos everyday here in LA and then blogs about it and rates them. It has made us want to start a taco/burrito blog, so its in the works! Yes, we are that obsessed with good mexican food.
