I totally love my crazy kids. I can't believe how fast they are growing up. I'm sad that there aren't in fat, kissable babies in our house anymore. Do I want more children? No. But I do miss that cute baby stage, BUT I'm enjoying (most of the time) the stages we're experiencing now! Each day is an adventure and every night when my head hits the pillow, I thank God for all my blessings and that all my blessings are in their beds ASLEEP!
Brinkley Jada--4 1/2 Years Old
She's just like me! And when she and I have our battle of wills, David loves to giggle and say, "Your parents probably prayed 1000 times that you'd have a daughter just like you. Their prayers were answered!" She is so opinionated, she loves having the last word and she rolls her eyes. SHE'S 4 AND ROLLS HER EYES! Oh dear!!
But really I'm describing like 4% of our time together. A majority of the time we're attached at the hip---she's my sidekick and loves to know where I am and what I'm doing. She's very curious! She's handled every bath or body product I own and if she catches me putting in deodorant or perfume, she must have some too.
She loves, loves to sing and if it's a churchy song she busts out in a lovely vibrato or if it's a pop song she shares her awesome dance moves! She loves pretending she's a gymnast and she can do a really good cartwheel. She naturally points her toes and displays that gymnastic-like grace. I don't have the heart to tell her that she's going to be way too tall and that she should really be learning volleyball--I just let her dream!
She loves to play mommy to the boys and repeat my comments to them, like she's the boss...um no! She's a born leader and loves attention.
She loves to cook, write her name, swing and go garage sales (people always give her free stuff). She is very nosey and talks to everyone, anywhere and will ask them anything...ANYTHING!
I've decided my favorite new hobby is braiding her hair--she's patient for the most part, she loves the end result, but sometimes complains during the process.
Her freckly-face and beautiful blue eyes are so fun to stare at. The days she wants to cuddle on my lap or the early mornings she climbs into bed with me--I treasure.
I pray that she and I are always close, I hope she'll come to me for anything. I pray that I teach her kindness, generosity, love, and my heart bursts with a desire that she has self-worth and a testimony of her divine role as a daughter of God!
Braxton Reese--4 1/2 Years Old
He lost his first tooth recently and I seriously love his cute-one-tooth-missing-smile.
He's so full of energy. Never a dull moment with Brax. His teachers at school and church probably wish they had tranquilizers on hand, but we are doing our best to teach him obedience and to use his listening skills. In the mean time we're getting our money's worth out of our babysitters.
He loves being outside. Digging in dirt and catching bugs are high on his list of priorities. He LOVES MONEY. He loves earning it, saving it and spending it. He loves money. It's become a huge blessing in our house because we can use it for rewards for cleaning up toys and for good behavior. How does he like to spend his hard earned money? Gum ball machines at the mall!
He loves "break dancing." That's the best way I know to describe it, it's seriously awesome. If you give him a beat he'll totally bust out his awesome moves....a lot of hip shaking and floor-spinning, he's a natural.
He's mastered the monkey bars and will go across them as fast as be can. He swings those infamous hips back and forth and crosses the bars with great finesse!
He's not really into writing his name. He has perfected the letters B, O, and X. He'd have his name down if we would have named him Box or Ox. But he's ridiculously smart so we're not too worried.
He loves books and even sleeps with a few of his favorites. He doesn't read yet, but he loves looking at each page and creating his own stories with each of the pictures or finding his favorite letters: B, O, and X.
He is a great investigator and asks great questions, here's a recent one: "Mom, what hurts worser a cactus or a porcupine?" Or "Mom, what hurts worser, a bee or a wasp?" He's very curious about the world around him and loves discovering new things!
He's a joy to be around and brightens each and every day with his excitement and passion towards life. From the moment he entered this world, my world has been such a better place!
Brady Cameron--3 Years Old
For the first two years of Brady's life it was though he hardly made a peep. BEST.BABY.EVER! Well, let's just say he's decided to make up for it. And in my opinion, with all my kids considered, I truly believe that age 3 is way harder than 2. Whoever made up the statement, "terrible twos," never met a three-year-old. It's not that Brady is bad, totally not true, he's just being three after he decided to be an angel of a kid for more than 2 years.
Okay, just to start off with, he's ridiculously cute. Ridiculously. His sweet face, baby blue eyes and killer lashes=adorable. I know I'm his mom, but I hear it from strangers daily...must be true, wink! He is so darn charming and his little personality is by far his best feature. He's got the toothiest smile and cutest laugh. He likes to talk like a "duck," at least that's how I refer to it. He makes a "bill" with is lips and talks. He uses this talent when tattling on people, trying to get his way and just when he's trying to be funny.
He love baseball. LOVES BASEBALL. This summer we went to a ton of baseball games (Triple A, Albuquerque Isotopes) and he loved every minute of it. He seriously watched the game. He loves baseball so much that he will cheer for anyone playing well, doesn't matter the team. One game early in the season, a player broke his bat while hitting a ball and Brady cheered all season, "Break your BAAAAAAT," any time a player took to the plate.
His second love would have to be motorcycles! He loves them. He points them out as we drive around town, he gets really excited when he sees packs of them or two people on one bike...seriously cool. He's going to be a "motorcycle guy" for Halloween, as he affectionately refers to them.
He started going to school with Brinkley and Brax once he turned 3 and he loves it. The first time he went he was a little scared, but now he owns that place. He's in a different class than they are, which is really good for him, he needs a break once in a while---it's hard having two older siblings so close in age, there's a lot of bossing around and toy taking going on.
He's potty trained, but refuses to wear a nighttime diaper, so David and I rotate taking him at about midnight and then again at 6AM, we'd rather do that than fight him over it or changed soiled sheets, we're hoping in the next few months to ween him from it.
Brady adds so much fun to our lives and a whole lot of baseball (we play everywhere, living room, park, on vacation, you name it.) I'm so grateful he's a part of out family, I couldn't have dream him more wonderful and I'm so thankful he's ours forever.
All of these pictures were taken at a local pumpkin patch on October 18, 2012.
