Well, the Albuquerque Zoo tempted me with a great offer for a family annual pass and I was convinced that in order to get our money's worth I needed to be brave enough to take them by myself. (David can only handle the zoo maybe twice a year!)

So.....yesterday I did my very first zoo day with just me and the kids. It was a lot of fun. The kids were pretty well behaved and I learned a lot! I also noticed a few other moms alone with their kids--so it gave me strength!

David was in a meeting when I called to tell him my plans, so when he called me back we were already at the zoo. He was shocked that I was by myself, he thought for sure I had my best buddy, Judy, with me. Nope, just me!
Some highlights included: a fun picnic, a cliff jumping polar bear, a pee drinking baby orangutan (totally grossed us out), the stinky amphibian room (Brinkley felt compelled to warn everyone walking in how stinky it really was) and feeding the fish and ducks!!

I think I'll go again in a couple of weeks--maybe we'll ride the train to the aquarium--I'm so brave!
