We lost a member if our little family today, our sweet Blossom Pup!
She suffered a back injury in March jumping off our sofa and the veterinarian was confident she was going to get better, but sadly her condition got worse. She wasn't her chipper, barking, lovable self. She just wanted to lay in her bed most days and nearly gave up eating altogether.
Last week she stopped using one if her back legs and we made the difficult decision to end her suffering! I've been crying all day and I'm probably going to end up with a sinus infection! She was my first "baby!" Before there were bows in Brinkley's hair, it was Blossom with the bows! She kept me company for the 10 months while David and I were apart while we tried to sell our condo in Las Vegas! She put up with us through Halloween costumes and bringing babies home for the hospital! She'll always have a special place in all of our hearts!
Today I gave her a bath and bathed her in the kids gentle bath soap, so she could smell them. I put her fancy Zebra collar on her and wrapped her in one of Brinkley's baby blankets. She ate all the sliced deli turkey she could manage. All three kids kissed her goodbye and I drove her to the office. She sat on my lap and licked my arm the entire way while I told her I loved her! I held her like a baby until they came back for her, I kissed her on her little nose and told her I loved her and then they took her back.
She's one of Heavenly Father's creations, and I believe her little spirit is with Him now! I'm not sure how it will all work out, be He does, but for now, I have to believe that all dogs go to heaven, especially our sweet, Blossom Tulip Clyde!

Miss Amanda - I am not much of a dog person but I am in tears. I can't imagine having to make that decision. Knowing this morning what was coming must have made it really hard. I knew little Blossom as a puppy and I know how much joy she brought you and David. I hope that it gets easier as the days go by. Looking at all the pictures of her is what got me... she really was your first baby. You'll be in my prayers.
Oh I'm sorry Amanda! I totally cried reading your post. I've had to put down a few dogs on my life and it is so so hard! Our Milo is 10 years old now and was our first baby so I know how you feel. SO sorry for your loss. She was well loved. Also, the updates on the kids are SO cute. Take care, I'll be thinking of you.
Oh, so sorry she didn't recover. She was our second grandpup and we too hope she is happy in dog heaven!
I'm so sorry Amanda! I have to admit that your post got me all choked up too and I'm not a dog person either. I loved the pictures of Blossom. She was a really cute dog.
HUGS!!!!
So sorry Amanda! That is so sad!
