Who They Are Now--15 Months

I know I say this every time I post about the babies, but time is going so quickly. Just a few nights ago Braxton found their play gym from when they where babies and we couldn't believe how huge he looked next to it. They used to lay under it and stare at the fun toys and now he can haul it around the house and rip it into smaller pieces.

The babies are not really babies anymore, but they will always be my babies--so the name may stick for a while. They are growing up so much, they run, dance and climb. They love watching Sesame Street and Clifford, The Big Red Dog, they love music and books. They eat only people foods (took us a while) and they love the park and going outside. They say tons of words and are developing the funniest personalities. Everyone says they are so big...we like it that way, here are the official numbers, Brinkley is 55% in weight, 95% in height and Braxton is 55% in weight and 75% in height. And here's a few unique things about each of them:

Brinkley Jada:

She's so lovable and sweet, a great cuddler, but she's still feisty and tough. She's a biter. Not sure how we'll overcome it, Braxton doesn't fight back, but one day maybe he will...that may be the solution. She is just passionate about music and loves to sing. She loves books and loves to read each page word by word, when I forget to point at the words she'll grab my finger and do it for me. When you count, "One," she'll say "two." She loves the words "baby" and "me," I don't think she knows what they mean just yet. She loves eating strawberries and clementines. She loves to stare at other kids and at the park and she's become a bit of a social butterfly. If she goes up to a stranger she's fine, but if one comes up to her she gives them the "Brinkley stare," just glazed-over eyes that don't blink and not a chance of a smile. When she rides her truck she makes the engine sound. She likes to jabber all the time and sometimes I think she's trying to tell people off. She'll get really stern with her jabbering and point a finger at me, Braxton, David, or the dog...it's so funny and I'm not sure what triggers it. She won't keep her hair bows or ties in and loves to pretend to comb her hair. If you give her a brush she knows just what to do with it. Lately she loves play with my hair too. She has ten teeth including 2 molars that she's had for 4 months. She's so smart and says words on command all the time. If you ask her where the Itsy, Bitsy Spider is, she'll make it crawl up her arm. I love her so much and not just because she looks so much like me, I love her because she's compassionate, tender, tough, gentle, she's my little piece of lovable, huggable heaven on earth.

Braxton Reese:

Oh, I love this kid. He walks around grabbing and throwing things and growling it's so funny. He loves to push things around, I really need to get him a fake lawn-mower or something. He's just such and boy. He loves to get into things. My sister calls him a "Heat Seeking Missile," because if there's a door open, a toilet seat up, something left out, Braxton will find it quickly and destroy. He too loves music and is a great dancer, he's mastered turning in a full circle. He loves to climb on anything holding still and he likes to try and "surf" once he's on top of it. He is amazing at figuring things out, like he'll put a toy next to the playpen so he can climb on top of it to get inside the playpen to get something that we've put in there to keep away from him...he's got a creative mind. He loves to take a bath and is quite the splasher. He loves sticks and rocks and exploring at the park. He not a big jabberer, but he does talk a lot and is very smart. He loves to say, "go, go, go," and if you ask him what the dinosaur says, he'll roar for you. It's hard to keep him still during church because he wants to go see all the other kids, he's always been a big social butterfly. He loves to hide when he know it's time for a nap...under the table seems to be his favorite spot. He loves emptying laundry baskets and will fill them back up again. When I go get him out of his crib in the morning he dives under his blankets and tries to make me catch him. He has 8 teeth and 2 molars that are barely popping through as I type this. I gave him his first haircut a month or so ago, so his mullet is gone, and let's just say I hope my hair cutting skills get better. Braxton is just pure joy to love and I feel blessed to love him and to be able to say I'm his mama!

OK let's just be honest, those are some amazing beautify children. The words you used to describe them are so tender and it’s like we get to participate in their lives. It’s almost like we are there. Thank so much for your picture and our words. Both are so precious and entertaining.

They are adorable! In answer to your question about the bottle. We just stopped giving it to him. He wasn't real fond of the sippy cup or the cold milk instead of warm formula but he'll eat anything so after some crying he gave in and drank the milk. I also found out that he likes the sippy cups that have the straws instead of the hard plastic for them to drink out of. Good luck!
