Who They Are Now: 3 Months

Brinkley Jada. Oh, she makes you work for it…every smile and every laugh. Just when I thought she was “coming into herself” a lady from church said she looks like an old man. Oh well. I think she's gorgeous. I love waking her up in the morning and talking to her—it’s definitely when she’s the happiest. She reminds me so much of myself, she’ll be a strong, independent woman someday—it’s the strong, independent two-year-old that scares me. She likes to wake up a few times each night, I’m convinced it’s just to say hello because she misses me. She’s becoming a daddy’s girl more and more every day. David has a way with her—he can calm her down and put her to sleep way better than I can. She loves to laugh at his silly dances and funny faces. I hope they are always close. I love her so sincerely.

Braxton Reese. I think he grew out of turtle and is now a frog. He has the biggest belly and skinny little legs. He is such a beautiful baby—I hope he never looses that sweet, innocent baby face. He gives of his giggles and smiles so liberally. Definitely not a respecter of persons. He sleeps through the night and when he finally awakes in the morning I realize how much I missed him. He is so pleasant and easy going. I’m convinced he’ll be the kind of boy every mom wants her daughter to bring home. I love how excited he can get; he pumps his legs and arms and quickens his breathing. I love the mischievously way he looks at me out of the corners of his eyes and gives a little half-smile like he’s got a secret—he does it about 100 times a day. I just can’t wait until he starts talking; he’s going to be the funniest kid. I love him so profoundly.

What joy they bring us and don't worry, that independent and strong 2 year old will be a force to be reckoned with but she will grow out of it, but it will take a while. Why is is that everyone else will laugh at how she acts and what she will do, but not mom!

I just have to say that I love reading about how much you love your babies. They are beautiful, and Brinkley does not look like an old man.

I love seeing your babies grow up. That first year of life is so amazing. So many changes and so many new things to learn. They look so different to me. We can't wait to see them this summer. They're adorable!!

They are so beautiful and so incredibly amazing. I can’t wait to see them and to really get to know them. I love those fat cheeks and there is going to be some serious tickle time. The lady that made the stupid comment, tell her “Jimbo” is looking for her. Can’t wait for June.

Hey Amanda! Blast from the past here. I've been lurking for a while admiring your beautiful bay-bays. They are both gorgeous and don't resemble old men at all! By the way, you look fabulous as well! Oh, and you don't look like an old man either!

So cute. Brinkley has so much more hair - it's adorable. About the old man comment, she doesn't look like an old man! Last week, a woman told me, "She looks like her brother, huh?! I mean, really, she looks like a boy, don't you think." What are you supposed to say to those kind of people! I've decided that they just don't know what they're talking about.
