Let's Start A Revolution

6 Months until our lives completely change. We’re very excited…this is what we wanted, this is our miracle and I truly believe that. But the harsh reality of it all is setting in. Is our house big enough? Are our cars sufficient? How much baby gear do you really need for twins? Who is going to watch our most prized, coveted and blessed possessions when I go back to work? I DON’T WANT TO GO BACK TO WORK! I have to…or do I? I was thinking, I’ll take out a full-page ad in US Today, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal: “I want to stay home with my babies…send a dollar.” Do you think people would send money? I HONESTLY think if I saw that ad, I’d send a dollar, maybe even 5! Anyway the best solution would be to sell the Las Vegas Condo, I could stay home for sure. But unfortunately the market in Vegas SUCKS, for lack of a better descriptor. What’s a girl to do? Any ideas? Let’s start a “Don’t make Amanda go back to work” movement…it’ll be on all the national morning shows, Ellen and Oprah, we’ll make t-shirts and Michael Buble (I love you, honey!) will do a benefit concert. I will name one of my babies after you (I swear) if any of you out there can make this a reality…okay maybe middle name!

P.S. We (I) lost our digital camera somewhere between California and New Mexico, it's in a blue case. ***REWARD*** You know, just in case it fell off the airplane all of you in Arizona should really be on the lookout. Anyway, that's why the lack of pictures...I'll include a file photo in this Blog!
This was taken in July 2006, I was making breakfast for David and I and BAM! a double yoke...do you think it was a sign of twins to come? Something to think about especially if you've ever had a double yoke!

You are hillarious!! I love to hear that life is good. I too wish you could stay home. Start your own business..in 6 months it will be set and you can be at home with your babies.

Hey I hope you get to stay home. Maybe if that dollar thing works, I'll try it. You know I don't want to work anymore. Double yokes are cool. Thanks for updating the blog. You know you are going to update your blog when the boys get here. So go buy a camera now and make your daddy happy. We sure love you and miss you, you being plural, and always includes David.

Hmm, that just may work. you're right, I would probably send a dollar- or more. But how much would the ads cost? Staying home is great, well worth the sacrifices involved... i hope you can find a way. Should I send you a dollar to start your fund?

I would send a dollar to you if you could send a dollar to me. I guess that really wouldn't help either of us... I must say after being both a stay at home mom and a working mom there are things I love about both of them. Call me sometime if you need some love and support because bottom line is you need to do what ever your family NEEDS.

I thought about going back to work this summer (got a little bored???) and checked out daycare prices- for three kids it would be between 1500 and 2100 bucks. That would leave money for gas, so i wouldn't be making anything. Then I got all weepy and upset thinking of someone else having my kids for so many hours a day. I am the jealous type I guess. Plus I worked in daycare. I cared for those kids, but I never loved them like I do my own, and they know that. If you can sell you condo, do it. If you can't, you can't. Like my grandma says, you do what you gotta do.

Amanda, I hope you can stay home with your babies. There are some working from home options out there. One thing I do know- it all works out. It really does. Faith and prayer! And I will have some and say some for you!

I want to stay home too! I guess it just wasn't in the cards for me. I hope your send a dollar campign catches on! Remember to take it easy and rest every chance you get. Taking good care of those babies hinges on you taking extra-good care of yourself! I love you!

I forgot to tell you- I have a double umbrella stroller (Jeep) that was in great condition last time I saw it. You wouldn't be able to use it until your babies are like 7 months old or more, but you can use it until they are like 2 years old. Unless they are big kids, in which case you tell them they just have to walk and I can recommend a few good leashes. I won't be needing the stroller anymore, so let me know.

I long for the days of full-time motherhood. However, you do what you can. You will know what is best for your family and you will be blessed with the ability to put that into practice. I'm blessed because Heidi does love Warren, but you may be surprised to find that there are other sincere caretakers (see Amy Coontz' recent blog).

By the way, did I somehow miss the due date of your precious little ones? When are you expecting their arrival?
